Background

Founded in 2021 and headquartered in Sant Boi, Spain, NUVATHINGS S.L. designs and manufactures critical alarm transmitters (CIRRUS / PYRUS) and autonomous IoT dataloggers (HELIUS) for smart agro, municipal, industrial, and public infrastructure networks. Their devices ensure alarm delivery and data acquisition in environments where power, fiber, or mobile networks are unavailable or unreliable.

Challenge

NUVATHINGS faced a major hurdle—reliable data transfer to the cloud across critical alarm systems and telemetry solutions. Many of their deployments occur in remote cropfields or infrastructure-poor locations , where fiber, Wi-Fi, or even traditional mobile networks are unreliable or unavailable. Designing around those limitations required a partner that could handle real-world failure scenarios.

1NCE Solution

NUVATHINGS teamed up with 1NCE to enable reliable IoT software and connectivity, even when major national networks failed. With multi-operator NB-IoT and LTE-M support, static IP and fallback profiles for built-in redundancy, and real-time visibility and deployment management, their systems remained resilient in high-stakes environments. During the blackout, NUVA’s hybrid NB-IoT + LoRa architecture, powered by 1NCE, kept 89 public buildings connected and monitored—a 100% success rate in alarm delivery when other systems went offline. Together they enabled >30% reduction in communication outages in rural areas, while HELIUS solar-powered dataloggers operated independently for up to 15 days.
