Helping a Unique Patient during (employment staffing agencies) My Registered Nursing Career

By Roberto Garabell

I am Registered Nurse and I work in a small hospital in a small town where everybody knows anybody.

“Stephanie,” the doctor said to me, “I want you to cover the ER OK?”

“Alright doctor, no problem.” I answered. It was no problem indeed because our ER seldom had really serious patients. Most of the people we attend to only have a broken bone or two. This night was a little special however. The patient was covered with blood all over. First he looked bloody and unfamiliar but as I neared him I realized he was my ex-boyfriend, the reason why I never had any boyfriend ever. But I am a professional so no matter how much I want to kill him, I nursed him gingerly. I wanted to hurry dressing his wounds because he was gaining consciousness. It disgusts me to think that he will wake up and see me take care of him.

“How is the patient?” The doctor asked.

“He is gaining consciousness.”

“That’s good because according to the x-ray. He suffered a severe concussion and he might be temporarily paralyzed.” The doctor explained. “I need you to catheterize him.”

“What?!” I asked in surprise.

“Give him a catheter.”

I nodded my head dutifully. I went to his side and started the procedure and much to my luck he woke up. “Aww, slow down will you?” He said with his eyes half open.

“I’m sorry.” I said and proceeded. I was happy he didn’t recognize me or he might be too brain damaged to remember me. In this case, I could do my job much better. I was the nurse assigned to him and it was my duty to check his vital signs and administer his medicine. It was so surprising to me that no matter how much I hate this guy I couldn’t bring myself to neglect my duties and I did them just like I do to other patients. I guess when you become a nurse all your personal feelings steps back naturally.

Days went by and little by little he was getting well. I see to it that all his needs were well taken care of. He didn’t show any signs that he recognize me so the atmosphere was comfortable for me.

“Nurse,” he said one day, “will I be able to move half of my body again?”

“The doctor said it is just temporary paralysis, so you could be up and ready anytime soon. Don’t worry about it.” I told him sympathetically.

He nodded and looked out the window blankly.

Then one day, the buzzer from his room sounded and I rushed to him immediately. He was jovial and he waved at me as I entered the door. I looked at him quizzically not knowing what has gotten into him.

“Nurse, I can move my hands,” he waved his hands again, “see.” I smiled at this childish outbreak. “I wanted to tell you first so that’s why I rang the buzzer.”

“That’s great, I am happy for you.” I said sincerely. “I will tell the doctor about this good news straight away.”

On the day, he left the hospital; he dropped by the nurse’s station with a note that says, “Stephanie, I am really sorry for what happened before. You are truly a good person because even if I was very horrible you still took care of me. You are the best nurse ever. Thank you.”

Getting More Than Money From Your Job

By Jack Authors

Job satisfaction should never be overlooked. It makes so much difference when you are working in a rewarding career. So many people go out to work each day and get nothing back in return (except, obviously, their wage packet!).

This may be bearable for a while, but after a certain time it really can become a bore. If you are the sort of person who tries to do your job as well as possible, then it can be a little disheartening if you never get anything in return; it is all to do with being appreciated.

The best solution to this type of situation is to completely change your career. There are plenty of jobs out there that will give you a genuine glow of pride for a job well done. And this will make your working life a whole lot more enjoyable! There is a big difference between just another anonymous day spent on a production line to helping someone to make a constructive change in their life.

So what type of work can offer you this satisfaction buzz? Well, there are the obvious ones… if you become a fire-fighter and spend your time rescuing people from burning buildings it is going to make you feel pretty good about yourself. Or if you help drug addicts to kick their habit it is certainly going to have a positive effect on you. But your new choice of career doesnt have to be anything quite as dramatic as that.

Imagine if you worked in a council office and it was your job to house homeless people. That would be a very rewarding task. You could go home at night knowing that one less person was having to sleep in a shop doorway, largely because of your input. Of course, housing jobs dont only deal with the homeless, but there are plenty of different people to deal with and some of them will be in a pretty desperate situation.

If that doesnt appeal to you then how about something involving a more hands-on type of work? What about taking a few courses in joinery? It would certainly be rewarding to know that you had done a good job of fitting someones new windows or front door. There are plenty of joiners out there, but not all of them take pride in what they do; you could build up a reputation as someone who always did a job properly.

There are plenty of areas to choose from that can offer workers a huge amount of job satisfaction and that are not all as obvious as you would think; joinery or housing jobs are just a couple of examples. Counselling, cake decorating, engineering, plumbing or graphic design; these and many other careers can give you a real sense of achievement and self-worth.

We spend a large part of our lives working and we should always make sure that we get a little something back from it! If you shudder at the thought of your job then something is very wrong. Maybe it is time to think about a change of direction…

Housing Jobs is a new and exciting job board created exclusively for housing associations and organisations across England, Scotland and Wales. Featuring housing association jobs, housing officer jobs and social housing jobs, you will be sure to find a perfect match.

How to Fill Up a Retail Job Online (recruitment consultants) Application

By Garrett36 Pierson36

If you are eyeing to work in the retail industry, the best and most successful way to explore possible employment opportunities is by going online. Fact is, a lot of retail shopsfrom Wal-Mart to Searshave gone online to look for and find quality people. Aside from the low cost of keeping a recruitment page in their own corporate website, or placing a recruitment ad in an online recruitment site, doing all the recruitment activities online also gives them access to a wider talent pool. In return, job applicants for retail positions also get to enjoy flexibility because they can easily file their applications online. In addition, they also get access to a whole range of job postings, which gives them the freedom to select and shortlist the best job opportunities.

When applying for a retail job online, applicants are usually asked to fill up an online form. To some extent, this makes the job easier, especially for those who are having trouble building their resumes. However, not a few applicants fall into the trap of oversimplifying the act of filling up online application forms, causing them to get disqualified for the position that they are applying for.

Remember that these online application forms are structured to make applicant evaluation easier for hiring managers. Imagine if they have to go through tons of application forms and resumes in different formats. If that were the case, it would be very difficult to compare the candidates and decide based on a certain set of standards.

This is why it is important that applicants for retail jobs take these application forms seriously. Most of the time, applicants are required to fill up these forms despite having previously submitted a resume. This means that the formand how it is answeredcould be the single most important document on which the decision could be based on.

The main thing to remember when answering an online retail job application form is to answer completely and accurately. Most of the questions call for detailed answers. It is thus important that you have all the correct information at hand when you answer the application form.

Normally, these forms begin with a portion on your personal information. This includes your name, address, your city and zip code. It also includes your contact details such as your phone number and email. You will also be required to answer whether or not you are eligible to work in the US or if you have been convicted for any felony.

The next section will usually ask about your education, including the school you attended and the courses that you have graduated from. This is followed by your professional experience. To some degree, retail jobs require professional expertise, so make sure to highlight any previous work experience related to the position that you are applying for. In addition, you also need to specify the position you are applying for, you preferred work hours, and how soon you can start if hired.

Finally, don’t make the mistake of clicking the “Send” button without reviewing your entries. Grammatical, spelling and punctuation errors are a total turn-off, so make sure that your application form is clean and readable.

Why I (employment) Became a Clinical Laboratory Technologist

By Roberto Garabell

During my youth, I was fascinated with learning about biology and how it worked. I would just curl up on the floor with an encyclopedia and chips in my hand and enjoy reading every biology entry that I could discover. The great thing about reading the biology entries from the encyclopedia is that you never knew if the next biology entry would be about a type of life like bacteria, or a life process like photosynthesis.

Based on what I love most, most people would expect that I am a geek. Well, I am not. As a matter of fact, I belong to the varsity team of my school’s basketball team from my elementary school up to my middle school.

My family belongs to a middle class family and I was brought up well. I simply love looking in a microscope and looking at the tiny spiral like living things moving in front of my eyes and many other things involving chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and bacteriological tests.

I always look forward to my science classes and I always raise my hand if my professor asks for a volunteer. I planned to take up medicine in my post graduate studies and be a physician, since this is my father’s dream for me, but at that time I was having the time of my life playing basketball which was my priority.

Later, I majored in biology in college and worked my way through many classes. My plan was to pursue my desire to become a physician. Unfortunately, I didn’t had the chance to make my plans turn into a reality. I was asked by my father to take over our family business, because he is sick and needs to rest. I accepted at once, but still dreamed of a career that dealt with biology.

Since I have most of my time taken up with the family business, I decided to take specialized courses to become a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, which was the most practical way which I can make my dreams come through. After some time, with a mixture of effort, patience and courage, I finished my degree and acquired the necessary certification for the job. Since I wanted to start immediately, I applied part-time in a clinic laboratory at the same time that I’m managing the small business that my family has bestowed upon me.

Even though I am very busy with the family business I am handling, my work in the laboratory compensates this with the happiness, enjoyment and knowledge that I encounter in the laboratory even if for a short period of time.

To be able to pursue this career more, I have put up a small clinical laboratory of my own. With a couple of other clinical laboratory technologists as my employees, this served as the playground of my fascinations and imaginations that I have been dreaming as a child. For some this would be a very small dream, but for me this is the best thing that I have ever done in my life.

MedicalJobs.ORG (http://www.medicaljobs.org) covers many different medical jobs and careers. Clinical Laboratory Technologist jobs are described on the site. Explore more about Clinical Laboratory Technologist jobs at http://www.medicaljobs.org/careers/Clinical-Laboratory-Technologists.php

By NurseOptions

Neonatal nursing jobs should be easy to find, since these professionals are needed in nearly every hospital. By building relationships with employers all across North America, we learn about neonatal nursing listings as soon as they become available. We’ve created a job database called Absolutely Health Care, which allows you to view thousands of neonatal nursing job listings with detailed employer information.

You can also upload your resume, and it will be made available to all of our industry contacts. The whole process is simple and quick, and it eliminates the need of going through the paper or researching out-of-date online neonatal nursing job listings.

What You Should Know about Clothing Store Careers

By Garrett36 Pierson36

If you are one of those people who have this unexplainable love for clothes and skill for fashion designing, then you are meant to work in the fashion industry. When you were younger, you probably made clothes for your dolls or revamped your old clothes into something new. These are signs that you should be working in a boutique surrounded with clothes, not in a bank or behind computers.

People who work in the fashion industry, like those who pursue clothes store careers, are imaginative and love to express themselves with their clothes. For them, wearing clothes is like creating art. It is an art in itself, just like painting or dancing. This is because you have to plan your outfit well and put the pieces together and make sure that the overall outcome looks great. It is not true that fashion designers are the only creative people in the fashion industry. Even those people who make an effort to dress themselves fashionably are also creative and imaginative.

There are a few things you should know before pursuing one of those clothing store careers. Here are some information and tips that you should knowlearn.

- Clothing store careers have two aspectsthe creative and manufacturing sides. The creative aspect is the whole brainstorming process. This is the process for fashion designers and probably researchers. They think of ideas that they can turn into real clothes. The manufacturing aspect is the process that deals with the mass production of the clothes and textile. This is the job for the textile or apparel manufacturers. Select the side that will work best for you. This, of course, depends on your talent and skills.

- Although careers in the fashion industry are easier and more fun than other careers, there are times when you also have to work hard. For example, fashion designers spend long hours thinking of designs that the public will embrace wholeheartedly. You should know that in this kind of business, it is not purely self-expression. You also have to think of sellable ideas that the consumer will love. Otherwise, your business will go bankrupt.

- For some, it can be a bit hard to get a career in the fashion industry because of the tough competition. There are a lot of people who want to make it in the fashion world but jobs are not as many as in other industries. They only choose those who have an edge or who are really passionate about fashion. Tat is why it is important that you love fashion if you want to have a job in this industry.

- You should also know that you are more likely to get a job in a fashion city capital like New York City. If you live in the mountains of Montana or Wyoming or somewhere rural, there is a smaller chance for you to find a glamorous fashion-related job.

It is important to know learn about the information listed above so that you know what to expect in the fashion industry. It is not purely fun and glamour but also hard work and perseverance.

Henry Kelts can help you if you’re in the process of looking for retail store jobs and want to explore all your career options and learn the best ways to go about applying for jobs. Visit job interviewing tips to learn more.
